Zweisimmen in Berner Oberland

In the Berner Oberland, at the foot of the Rinderberg, lies a typically Swiss village called Zweisimmen. Surrounded by well over 400 kilometres of ski-runs, marvellous cross-country skiing areas and footpaths, Zweisimmen is an ideal spot for winter sports. Major developments in infrastructure in recent years, have lead to a connection with Gstaad. This has opened up considerable opportunities to expand.

Zweisimmen is the main village in Obersimmental and is centrally located along the border between Gstaad and Lenk. The village serves around 3100 inhabitants and lies at an altitude of 950 meters. Tourism  has always been an important pillar of the economy in Zweisimmen. However, you will not find lots of Apres-ski bars, pubs and fancy Hotels or restaurants in Zweisimmen. But for those of you that like a more down-to-earth town atmosphere, Zweisimmen is the place to be.

It serves here to mention the ski region Gstaad (Snowparadise) and the cross country skiing and tobogganing centre Sparenmoos.  Zweisimmen has its own downhill slope and has excellent and fast access to the Snowparadise ski region.

During summer, Zweisimmen offers the relaxation one looks for when on holiday. Walking through beautiful scenery, gliding, or cycling along the many charted cycling routes. Everything is possible. The golf course, situated exactly between Zweisimmen and Gstaad, lies beautifully among the mountains and is in excellent condition. Zweisimmen is also called ‘Sonnendorf’ because of its sunny climate, both in winter and in summer! In summer Zweisimmen functions as a high altitude hiking centre. A popular summer family attraction is the modern and spacious 0pen-Air swimming pool.
